Last year's winners:
Abington Fire Co., based on Horace Ave. in Abington Township, won two of the five first-place awards presented to volunteer fire groups participating in Glenside’s 105th Annual, Grand, Glorious, Patriotic Parade and July 4 Independence Day Celebration sponsored by the Greater Glenside Patriotic Association.
Abington was judged as “Best appearing fire company” and for showing the “Best appearing pumper” in the parade. Runners-up were the Roslyn Fire Co., of Abington Township, in the former category, and Jenkintown Borough’s Pioneer Fire Co. and Abington Township’s McKinley Fire Co., second and third place finishers, respectively, in the latter judging.
Other winners were: Best appearing rescue unit -- Weldon Fire Co., Glenside, OF Abington Township, and Rosyln, runner-up
